Every year Where Y’At Magazine runs the Best Bartenders in New Orleans Contest, this is year is no exception.  This year’s contest is sponsored by Wild Turkey 81 — just in time for Thanksgiving (aka Turkey Day).  Bartenders from across all parts of New Orleans are participating and are giving out their fun recipes for special drinks using Wild Turkey 81.

This year out of our 5 locations, 2 of our fantastic bartenders have made it to the Where Y’at list and we need your help in making sure they both get to the finals!  Please take the time to VOTE for Josh and/or AJ if you can, it’d mean a lot to them to reach the finals and even win and be the Best Bartenders in New Orleans!

Josh Daley:  Tropical Isle Original Bartender

Josh is a mixologist extraordinaire and has been with Tropical Isle entertaining customers at our TI Original location on Toulouse and Bourbon for years.  Josh’s outgoing personality is definitely a winning trait with all of our customers.  Try Josh’s recipe for Turkey Tea!

Turkey Tea

• 1 oz. Wild Turkey 81
• 4 oz. Pineapple Juice
• ¼ oz. Malibu Rum
• ¼ oz. Peach Schnapps
• ¼ oz. Cranberry Juice
• ¼ oz. Orange Juice
• Lemon & Lime Slices

Shake. Pour in glass.

Top off with cherry juice & garnish with cherry.

AJ Johnson:  Tropical Isle Bayou Club Bartender

At the Bayou Club, AJ is Tropical Isle’s master behind the bar.  From serving up Hand Grenades to his great mix drinks our Bayou Club patrons love AJ’s service with his winning smile.  You can find AJ at the Bayou Club and TI Original and ask him to try his recipe for The Blue Gobbler!

Blue Gobbler

• 1 oz. Wild Turkey 81
• 1 oz. Peach Schnapps
• 1 oz. Blue Curacao
• 2 oz. Sweet and Sour Mix
• 1 oz. Sprite

Shake and pour.
