This is where it all started for Tropical Isle New Orleans.  Tropical Isle® Original was first launched after the 1984 World’s Fair here in New Orleans.  After thriving for 20 years on Toulouse Street, Tropical Isle® Original moved across the street to its current location.  We have recreated the cozy atmosphere of the old bar while adding several big screen TVs and space for large groups of party goers.

You’ll feel like you’re on the bayou in the Cajun decorated music club, with the high energy Zydeco and Cajun music plus all your favorite Tropical Isle® specialty drinks.  Stop on by and interact with our very friendly bands such as Brandon Miller & The Louisiana Inferno, Brandon Moreau & Cajungrass or T’Canaille who might even allow you to play along with them on their washboards and tambourines. The downstairs Tropical Isle® bar presents live entertainment seven nights a week featuring Debi & The Deacons, Captain Leo, Rhythm & Rain and other great bands specializing in Trop-Rock.  The upstairs “Top of the Trop” area has a wrap around balcony with a fabulous view of Bourbon Street, big screen TVs, a pool table and a jukebox filled with lots of Jimmy Buffet music.

The Hand Grenade®, Tropical Itch®, Horny Gator® and Shark Attack are served at both bars.  The perfect place for your special event or private party.

Our newest Tropical Isle New Orleans venue is tastefully decorated.  This small intimate bar is reminiscent of our first location on Toulouse Street.  the bar features unique lighting and a small stage where our local musicians perform.  There is a delightful courtyard.  All of our famous specialty drinks are featured, including the Hand Grenade®, Tropical Itch® & Horny Gator®.

The Best Blues Club on Bourbon Street featuring the internationally acclaimed ”Big Al” Carson (495 pounds of pure New Orleans Blues) & The Blues Masters is open Mon – Thurs at 5 p.m. and Fri – Sun at 12 Noon.  Other great local talent is spotlighted for Blues and Jazz such as Marc Stone, and Mark Pentone.  We have the best specialty drinks around.  Order the Pirate’s Bloody Mary and the Hand Grenade.  TVs for those must-see sporting events, including an 80″ Hi-Def TV that plays Pirate Movies when those games aren’t on.
